Annual Training Programme
We have an annual training programme which involves all staff. During this training we provide a practical training to staff on how to implement our audit methodology and respond to specific practical issues faced by staff during engagement execution.
Friday Morning Soup
With effect June 2008 we established an hourly “Technical Discussion” session every Friday to discuss topical issues (changes in accounting/auditing standards and regulations, current affairs in the profession, leadership & management, governance, soft skills, etc.) as well as matters that arise in the day-to-day execution of our work generally. The session, which runs from 8.00AM to 9.00AM every Friday, has been dubbed “Friday Morning Soup” by staff as it gets them refreshed and reenergised professionally.
Professional Examination and Continuing Development
It is a requirement that every staff undertakes to register and write professional examinations as required by the country’s professional body – currently NBAA. The firm undertakes to refund/pay for the expenses incurred in these examinations and also provide adequate training leave to staff. As a general rule, staff should qualify within 2 – 3 years after joining the firm.
We value the continuing professional development of our staff and the firm undertakes to sponsor each staff to attend at least two CPD events per year, earning them the minimum mandatory CPD hours required by the NBAA.
Practical Training Support
In line with our commitment to the development of the profession in Tanzania, we have a programme to accommodate three to five students from universities and higher learning institutions for their mandatory Practical Training for three months period, every year.
